SCHOOL COTTON PROJECT is a sub-project which aims to directly connect children in India with the ones in Japan through cotton. If children who will build the future can think about their friends in a far-away country through cotton, the issues which we are working on possibly will have been solved as a matter of course when they become adults.
Teachers from all over Japan have agreed with this idea and are participating in the project by growing cotton in school gardens all over Japan. The schoolchildren in Japan have been experiencing that the clothes they wear are made from cotton, which is a plant, and learning about the country India, farmers and their children through the exchanges of letters and paintings. The connections are expanding increasingly.
